ON THE ROAD: Nye Russell-Thompson (Workshop Leader).
Nye Russell-Thompson is a theatre writer, performer and actor, trained in Theatre Performance at the University of Chichester.
He used to have a severe stammer, until he realised drama is a very effective speech therapy - adopting the mindset of a character changes the mindset of the actor.
Graduating from the University of Chichester in 2014, Nye continued to develop his one-man play with a stammer JUST A FEW WORDS, working with the mantra of developing future shows about communication difficulties and mental illness.
In 2015, Nye took JUST A FEW WORDS to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe under the theatre persona StammerMouth.
Drawing upon theatrical concepts of ‘serious play’ and the scale of acting and non- acting, he invites you to laugh with him, because there’s always a funny side.
Separate from StammerMouth, Nye continues to create new work with The Ventnor Exchange, an Isle of Wight venue bringing contemporary theatre to an area where cultural diversity is low, and contemporary art underfunded.
